Chapter 2

Adam looked up to find a young woman, about his age, peering down at him.
"I'm so sorry to intrude, but you look like you're in trouble. Can I help you with something?"
"Not really I'm just confused. Thank you, though," Adam smiled graciously.
A city girl? A New Yorker was asking him if he needed help. Hell was surely freezing over.
"Hey, aren't you Adam Levine? From Maroon 5?" she asked curiously.
"Yeah."
"Cool. So what's wrong, Adam?"
"Well, I was supposed to be somewhere, but I can't get there, cause I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, to me anyways, and I'm not sure I can get out of here. Am I making any sense at all?"
"Nope," she laughed and extended a hand. "Ella, Ella Bloom."
"Nice to meet you, Ella. Adam Levine, well you already knew that," he smiled again.
"So you were saying..." she prodded.
"Um, yeah. The guys and I were supposed to be at MTV studios, but I decided to stay here and be "inspired" by the scenery. So they got a chopper out of here and there was no way I could make it there today, so I told them to go on without me and to call me to meet up with them somewhere."
"Well, why don't you come with me. I'm on my way out of the city anyways."
"I don't want to impose on you. I'll be fine."
"Adam, I insist. Come on, I'm heading out. We'll be out of here in a half-hour tops."
"How are you going to manage that? Taxis are ridiculously expensive and there are no more choppers out of here?"
"Oh, you'll see."

Adam followed Ella down the docks and they got to a slip with a 90' Hatteras, where she hopped aboard.
"Ella! You can't hotwire a boat!"
"Adam, I have keys," she stated jingling them over her head.
"Still, you can't go around stealing million dollar boats."
"It's mine. She's the Princess. My boat, my money paying for gas, you know."
"Wow. How'd you..."
"Boat show. They had a raffle where you can enter for something like 25 dollars a ticket and then they draw for a prize. If you get the spin prize then they let you spin a prize wheel 3 times. If you land on the Hatteras space, which is a little sliver, 3 times in a row, then you win the boat. And I did!"
"That's an awesome story."
"Yeah, I was flipping."
"But isn't it expensive?"
"To keep...yeah, but I don't have an expensive car, just an average priced one and what I save on that, I use on this baby here. This isn't exactly a super-exclusive marina. Pier 16, no, Trump Marina, yes, but they're just super luxurious. I wouldn't fit in anyway."
"So you must have a good job then?" Adam asked.
"Well, it pays well. I have a nice apartment 6 blocks from the office and I do have luxuries. Just not 4 Porches," she smiled.
"Point taken."
"Well, I'm going to get this baby ready for take off, you go explore. She is amazing, so have something to eat or drink.  Have fun," she winked.
Adam started for the lower cabin.
"And Adam?"
"Yeah?" he turned around to face her.
"Welcome aboard the Princess."
