Chapter 5

As Adam leaned against the sliding glass cabin door as he began to  recall the earlier conversation.
He hadn't meant to be so rude, nope, he never did. It was just so hard to deal with this on his own. He couldn't let anyone know, ever.
None of the guys knew this, they could never know. They would hit the fan if they did.
Adam shuttered, closed his eyes tight, braced for the worst, and splat! It was over. He was done with this feeling for now.
Damn the color red.

"I hope Adam's okay," Ella pondered as she leaned back as she shifted into neutral.
"Adam, you okay down there?" she called as she noticed the soaking wet Adam.
"Yeah, I just didn't realize that, uh, the waves actually came over the side of the boat," he quickly covered.
"Well, be careful. It does get super slippery down there."
"I will."

Adam quickly recovered from his weakened state as Ella made her way down the ladder.
"You okay?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine."
"You're just a little sea sick, nothing to be ashamed of."
"Yep, I guess you're right."
"No, I know I'm right," she stated as she turned towards the built in cabinet.
"Oh, a cocky one are we?" he smiled as he grabbed her arm and pulled her to his chest.
"I'm not the cocky one."She tried to look his eyes for a fleeting moment, hoping to find what he was thinking. What she was found was a reflective lens. She already knew what she was feeling, she wanted to know what he was feeling.
"Okay...I'll bite. Who is?" he smiled curiously.
"I can't see him right now."
"And why is that?" he inquired.
"Because of these," she spoke softly as she pulled of his sunglasses.
"It's not unusual for people to wear sunglasses, Elle."
"You don't know the meaning of unusual, Adam."
"Whatever, Ella."

It took Ella a while to get them set up, but Adam finally caught both dinner fish. Great, he'll be even cockier.

"Listen, Adam. You look exhausted. I'm going to go get you something for that sea sickness you got brewing. I'll bring you some water too, not that there isn't plenty around, but you know what I mean. Then I'll start dinner. Go get some sleep after. You need it; I'll wake you up before dinner."
"Thanks," he smiled weakly, but graciously.
He waited until she was gone again before emptying the contents of his stomach overboard. Once again, he hated the color red.

Adam downed the whole bottle of water after he popped the pills. He then traveled to the bedroom and as soon as he hit the pillow, Adam drifted into a deep sleep.
